HELLO!

My real name is Tracy, but a lot of people call me Ice. It’s a long story how that came to be.

I was born on Halloween evening, 1988. True story.

I WAS ONCE A STUDENT

I am a proud product of the UP Diliman College of Fine Arts. I graduated with a degree of Bachelor in Fine Arts, major in Visual Communication. I’ve known all my life that this was where I wanted to study because I was greatly influenced by my older cousins Travis and Troy who both went to UPCFA. It was a dream come true when I got in. (:

I’M MAINLY INTO THIS STUFF

Obviously enough, I’m into photography, design, and some illustration. Besides being quite dependent on more recent technology, I also like shooting with film on occasion. I own a Canon AE-1 named Flint with absolutely no automatic functions like Av and Tv, but it’s where I first learned photography and he holds a special place in my heart.

Besides the artsy-fartsy things I do, I’m also big on music - I love singing and I also play the guitar. I used to be in a couple of bands, but college life is was pretty demanding. I do sometimes miss getting up on stage and singing, though.

HOW I SUSTAIN MYSELF

Currently, I’m the co-founder & creative something of Tender Blender Food Design, and a freelance photographer (specializing in food, portrait/fashion, and events) & designer.

I’m also a part-time teacher at Global Art Katipunan, and at SHIFT (School of Intermedia, Film, and Technology) under The ONE School where I teach art to kids, and InDesign to college students, respectively.

MY HOPES AND DREAMS THAT I WILL TAKE CARE NOT TO HAVE CRUSHED

I have a number of goals for myself. Apart from hopefully getting a scholarship and taking my masters in New York or Hong Kong or some other place I can see myself striving on my own for a couple of years, one of my main goals is to make it big as a successful photographer and designer with Tender Blender, reaching all the ends of the earth.

Besides career-related things, I’d like to be able to travel the world, camera in one hand and the other holding my best friend’s.

OTHER STUFF I’M INTO (and other random preferences)

My favorite comics are Batman comics and my favorite Batman artist since childhood is Bruce Timm. My favorite Batman villain is the Joker. My favorite Robin will always be Dick Grayson (though he’s really hot as Nightwing).

Other comics I enjoy reading are The Walking Dead written by Robert Kirkman (I’m more a fan of the art style in the first volume, just saying!), The Sandman graphic novels written by Neil Gaiman, Kikomachine Komix (a local series) written and illustrated by Manix Abrera, and Tiny Titans by Art Baltazar and Franco. Other comic-related things, I love the art of Adam Hughes, and Blackest Night is still one of the most awesome stories I’ve ever read.

I, like many others, love the Harry Potter books and grew up with them, making myself more attached to the story and to the amazing world that J.K. Rowling created.

I like watching The Walking Dead, Daria, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, Flight of the Conchords, and a bunch of cartoons that I’m able to catch on occasion.

Going to aquariums is always a treat for me, because I love marine animals. I remain convinced that if I hadn’t taken up Fine Arts, or if I wasn’t into the arts in any way, I would have taken up marine biology or something like that in college.

I love taking pictures in the early morning, because the sunlight is golden (and good for you!) and doesn’t glare as much as in the afternoon.

I’m not really big on cooking, but I sure as hell love to bake, though I work better with recipes provided for me to follow.
