Tracy is a twenty-something red-headed photographer & designer from Manila, Philippines. She is one of the co-founders of Tender Blender Food Design, and takes pictures of (and designs things for) food for a living, but is open to other freelance work involving a camera.

This blog is a mix of her work and bits of her personal life (though the two often occur simultaneously).

She finds it a bit odd speaking in third person about herself.

frequently asked questions

What photography equipment do you use?
I’m currently armed with a Canon EOS 60D, with a Canon EOS 400D for backup. As for my lenses, I have the usual 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (kit lens) and a 50mm f/1.8. I made a DIY “flash modifier” which I use with my pop-up flash. I also have a Falcon Eyes 42” 5-in-1 reflector, and a 115w Softbox at my disposal, which I share with my Tender Blender team.

  • Canon EOS 60D (currently saving up for this)
  • Canon 60mm f/2.8 Macro
  • Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5
  • Canon (or Sigma, whichever) 24-70mm f/2.8

Yes I am, in some way.

What do you do for a living?
I am a managing partner, designer, and photographer for Tender Blender Food Design. Aside from that, I also teach kids art part-time at Global Art (Katipunan), and college kids InDesign and Rubber Foam at The ONE School (Makati). I’m also open for freelance photography and design work.

What medium did you use for the TDT?
I brought with me my trusty Staedler HB & 6B pencils, a set of Faber Castell colored pencils, and a set of oil pastels. I never touched the colored pencils during the TDT, however.

What programs do you use when making your illustrations?
I use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Where did you take your internship? What did you do there?
I took my internship at Leo Burnett in Makati during the summer of 2009. I participated in brain-storming meetings for certain brands, did mock-ups for some projects, attended a photo shoot, etc.
