Given the title alone, I have obviously made my wallet suffer quite a bit today. But I don’t spoil myself often, so alghlskdgldkh.

Last week, I roamed around Muji and happened upon this carpet! I’ve been contemplating getting one for my work area for months, since my floor chair is immensely prone to getting dirty. Part of me was screaming to get it since Muji is currently on sale(!!!). I hesitated that day (because I had initially wanted a bamboo/tatami mat), but I eventually convinced myself to get it, since the price wasn’t that bad for a carpet. Got it at 45% off!
This has been my 5th Muji purchase since forever. Thank you, Muji, for (not really) sponsoring my work area! I keep telling myself that at the rate I’m going, I’ll be able to furnish a tiny studio apartment by next year or something. I have to pace myself. My room is full of stuff.

Besides my lovely new carpet, I ended up spending on my first ever Topshop top (everything I own from Topshop are Batgirl undies I AM NOT ASHAMED), though with partial funding from Kiksy bebeh, thank you love!
I’ve long had a penchant for stripes, black & white clothing, and long sleeved shirts, so this immediately caught my eye when I saw it in Rockwell last November. I’m apparently drawn by “SALE! SALE! WE’RE FOOLING YOU INTO THINKING OUR ITEMS AREN’T THAT EXPENSIVE ANYMORE!” signs, as I have learned today, because I convinced myself this was now worth getting at 50% off. And that I’d never see this again if I decided to pass on it. Plus the fact that I usually don’t really like much of Topshop’s clothes…save for their Batgirl underwear.
The store seemed to catch on to my latter reasoning, though, and showed me clothes in pretty shades of red (which I also adore). Fought the urge to try a dress on, and walked out with just my sweater and my pained wallet.

Sooooo it looks like I won’t be spending much this February. Need to earn back what I spent today alone.
Anonymous asked: Ever consider making a tutorial on tumblr themes? Yours is so beautiful that I want it. >:(
I’m actually no expert when it comes to CSS/HTML! I only have a general understanding of codes — at best, I can only tweak existing codes to my liking. I have yet to try and create something from scratch! Also, I don’t go out of my way to learn it, since I honestly have no time to do so. I only learn while I’m in the process of coding!
However, if I do have the time, I can probably make a “tutorial” of sorts on how I go about tweaking CSS codes. (:
And thank you, I’m glad you like my Tumblr layout! ):<
Anonymous asked: Any suggestions for group shots of people/friends? Do you using a higher F number for them? Where do you aim to take the photo?
For sure, do not use your 50mm especially if it’s a relatively large group, unless you would like to stand very, very far away. Though the 50mm should be fine if it’s just two or three people.
As for aperture, it really depends on how large a group you’re shooting. Usually f/5.6 should be safe. Since you want everyone in focus, I think as long as you aim at one of the faces you should be fine. Personally, I use manual focus when doing this.
Anonymous asked: i'velooked through your photography and it's so amazing! and so inspiring! any advice for taking self portraits w/ 50mm? do you use like a shutter release cable or something? and loved the kai wong photo :) did you randomly just seen him and asked for a photo?
Hello, thank you! (:
I find the 50mm f/1.8 to be a tricky little thing when it comes to taking self portraits. Framing myself is a little bit of a challenge, given the certain distance I have to be from the camera. An added challenge is if you want to use large apertures, since you’ll always want to focus on your eyes. What I do is I try to have a good estimate of where I should be, and set the appropriate AF point that’ll focus on my eyes. I make use of an IR remote. (:
As for the Kai Wong photo, yes, my cousin and I just happened to spot him upon our arrival at the Hong Kong airport! We asked if we could take photos with him before hopping on the train to Kowloon. (:
